Out of Nigeria

Synopsis: Fodeks and Toyin’s plan was ambitious: travel from their home city of Lagos,
Nigeria to the Ice Hotel in the Arctic Circle, all by motorbike. Though Europeans had been traveling to Africa by motorbike for years, before Opeyemi “Fodeks” Fodeke and Toyin Adebole’s journey, very few Africans had traveled through the continent and across Europe on motorbikes. In “Out of Nigeria” they set out to inspire Africans throughout the continent to
reverse this narrative and take up adventure motorbiking.

Director's Bio

Raphael Goldberg Raph grew up in London riding motorbikes and making films with his Dad’s old super-8 camera. After studying Film production at the prestigious Bristol University film school, his passion turned into a profession when he started a film production company, Tanglewood, in his 20s working with brands including Nintendo and HSBC. He also began editing for television first in news and then making documentaries for both the US and the UK audiences, many of which have received international acclaim. In 2015 he finally managed to bring his two passions of filmmaking and riding motorbikes together when he was invited to join Toyin and Fodeks on their Out of Nigeria overland motorbike expedition and to direct, film and edit the subsequent award winning documentary.
