The newly released film, Sinners, is set in the 1930s Jim Crow-era South. It blends history and horror with the power of the blues. While many say it is a horror film, the director, Ryan Coogler, described it as "genre fluid," and insisted there was more to the film than the usual bloodsuckers-by-numbers path.

With Excitement, we introduce you to our Social Media Intern.

Nchopereu Nelson is a Social Media Intern at AFAF and an alumnus of the African Leadership Academy. With a background in English Modern Letters from the University of Yaoundé I, Nelson is passionate about digital storytelling, audience engagement, and using media to amplify African narratives.

With extensive experience in social media management, digital marketing, and content creation, Nelson has worked with organizations like Sadili Oval Sports Academy (Kenya) and Checkpoint News (Cameroon), where he trained volunteers on blogging, SEO, and digital visibility, ensuring impactful online engagement. His expertise also extends to business analysis and strategic communication, making him a valuable force in shaping digital conversations.

As African Film Festival Atlanta 2025 draws closer, we are thrilled to introduce the talented minds behind the scenes at the African Film & Arts Foundation!

Nosipho Eunice Bila is a passionate storyteller and Communications Intern at AFAF. A recent graduate from United States International University-Africa, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and is deeply committed to transforming African narratives through storytelling, education, and sustainability.

With a heart for community development, Nosipho aspires to use media and communications to empower African communities, working with organizations focused on education at the grassroots level. She also plans to pursue a Master’s in African Studies or Africa & International Development to further her impact.

We proudly recognize the unwavering dedication of Godfred Kogkane, a committed individual who worked with us as inter for over a year now and has come back as a volunteer for the upcoming AFFATL2025. 

Godfred is a final-year Management Information Systems student at Ashesi University, Ghana, set to graduate in June 2025. As a Mastercard Foundation Scholar, he is passionate about using technology, data, and strategic communication to drive community development, digital transformation, and social impact.

With hands-on experience in technology, communications, and program management, Godfred has played a key role in initiatives that enhance digital engagement, strategy, and innovation. His commitment to leadership and scalable solutions is helping to shape a brighter future for African storytelling.
